I was ra*ed for several years in the late 80’s and early 90’s by a “family friend.” I truly believe that played a significant role in shaping the person I am today.

Being a GenX, I have a love/hate relationship with tech. I think we’re pretty lucky to have learned two operating systems. We grew up in an analog world, but we were still young enough to understand tech during the digital revolution. On one hand, I believe it’s good and has made so many things in life much easier. Certainly made access to porn simpler, which I’m grateful for because I’ve always been addicted to that. (You now know a secret none of my ex-girlfriends or wives know.) We can now pay at the gas pump and extract cash from our accounts without having to walk inside. And we have someone, or rather someTHING to call emergency services for us should we be involved in an accident. But on the other hand, it’s terrible. When it doesn’t work it’s extremely frustrating and depending on the situation, debilitating. People in the retail industry have lost jobs. Companies have gone out of business. Social media and the internet in general is mostly AI slop now. And I hate how anyone can be found anywhere, anytime with minimal effort. At the risk of sounding like a paranoid schizo freak, I feel like I’m constantly being watched by the government and corporations. Whether I’m at home, work or traveling, there’s tech and sensors and gps everywhere! And they can all be hacked to work against you. And I hate it. I very much miss the days when if you weren’t at home or work, you were basically off-grid. I really miss that analog world.
